The 5 CAS Stages

The 5 CAS stages that represent a process and sequence you need to apply to your CAS experiences. These stages need to be documented as evidence of your experience in order for it to count as a full CAS experience.

  • What do I want to do or learn?

  • What CAS strands does it fulfil?

  • Will this be an experience or a project?

Action

  • Actually complete your CAS

  • Record relevant evidence!

Demonstration

Make it very clear:

  • What you have accomplished

  • What you have learnt

  • What you could've done better

  • What you would change if you do this experience again

Preparation

  • Clarify your roles and responsibilities

  • Develop a plan of actions

  • Identify resources and timelines

  • What skills will you acquire?

Reflection

  • Describe what happened in your experience i.e how you felt

  • What questions do you have?
